The first option for obtaining citizenship by investment involves a donation to the EDF of $200,000 for the main applicant. For a couple, the contribution is $150,000, while for the main applicant and up to three dependents, it is $175,000. Additionally, there is a fee of $25,000 for each extra dependent under 18 and $50,000 for those aged 18 and over.
Along with these contributions, you will need to pay processing fees of $1,000 per application. Due diligence fees amount to $7,500 for the main applicant, $4,000 for the spouse, and $4,000 for each dependent aged 16 and above. Furthermore, there are $250 fees for the Certificate of Naturalization and $1,200 for expedited passport issuance per individual.
The second option to meet the requirements for Dominica citizenship is to invest in a property worth at least $200,000 within a government-approved real estate development. You are required to maintain this investment for a minimum of three years. After five years, the property becomes eligible for resale under the citizenship program.
To qualify for the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme, you must first take an oath of allegiance to the Commonwealth of Dominica before a notary public, justice of the peace, or commissioner of oaths. Furthermore, while relocation to Dominica is not necessary to obtain citizenship, residents benefit from the absence of personal income, wealth, gift, inheritance, foreign income, and capital gains taxes.
We begin the Dominica Citizenship by Investment application process with Form 1, which addresses the necessary due diligence. Following this screening, you will review a Client Agreement that, once signed, empowers us to submit applications on your behalf, including those for your family.
After we receive the signed agreement and retainer payment, our processing team will handle all required government forms and supporting documentation. If you choose to invest in real estate in Dominica, you will also need to complete a sales and purchase agreement with the developer. Additionally, we will communicate with the property developer and the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) on your behalf.
Please note that direct applications for Dominica Citizenship by Investment are not permitted.
Before we submit your application documents, our processing team will thoroughly review everything to ensure that your file meets the CBIU's requirements.
After this initial review, the CBIU will perform its own due diligence on you, the primary applicant, as well as all dependents aged 12 and older. Additionally, you and all dependents aged 16 and above will need to participate in a mandatory interview, which can be conducted either in person or virtually.
We will collaborate closely with the CBIU throughout the entire process to facilitate the timely and efficient handling of your application. Once the CBIU has completed its review of the submitted paperwork, we will move on to the next stage.
Upon assessment of your application, the CBIU will approve it. Once approved, you are required to make all necessary contributions and pay any outstanding government fees. After providing proof of payment, the CBIU will issue Certificates of Naturalization. With these certificates, you can apply for a Dominica passport, granting you the ability to travel to visa-free countries and those accessible with Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
